The fireplace and kitchen cabinets are in

Stopped by the house today and the fireplace and kitchen cabinets are installed and they are finishing up the trim work.  They also stained the stair rail and hardwood steps.  Still a work in progress but things are looking good.

  1. Those balusters with the wood stairs...oh my word. Makes me look forward to my own. Just a beauty. And that fireplace is lovely!

  2. Thanks for the kind words! We were very happy they could do the hardwood stairs in our model - I guess it's not possible in all of them.

Glad to see your build is going well.

  3. Wow what a difference in just a couple days! Looks great!! Do you happen to know the dimensions on the kitchen island? Our sales rep is supposed to get that info and tell us at our 14 day appt.

    1. Sara, I'm not sure what the size of the island is (I checked our paperwork and couldn't find it) but I'll measure it next time we are out.

  4. Here's the blog I started on our Dunkirk! We received some great assurance from our underwriter that we are going to be just fine so I felt confident to go ahead and start blogging. Here's the link if you'd like to follow along. :)

  5. The fireplace looks great! I can’t wait until your house gets done and be fully furnished, since the fireplace and kitchen cabinets are just a glimpse of how beautiful your house is going to look. Thanks for sharing a view into your home!

  6. Your cabinet and balusters look great! Also, your fireplace seems very imposing. Good job on the brick work – it must have been hard to lay those bricks like that. By the way, were you going for a classic country house look? I had to ask, because most people would go for tiled-fireplace for a more modern effect. Anyway, I hope you’re quite satisfied with how it turned out. All the best!
